Antonio Rangel is an Associate Professor of Economics with tenure at the California Institute of Technology and co-director of the Caltech Brain Imaging Center. He received his Ph.D. in Economics from Harvard University.

Post-Doctors
Hilke Plassman
She is a postdoctoral researcher in the Division of Humanities and Social Sciences of the California Institute of Technology, where she has been since July 2006. Before that, she was a postdoctoral researcher in the Stanford Neuroeconomics Lab, Stanford University. She received a Ph.D. (Marketing and Neuroscience) from the University of Muenster’s School of Business and Economics in 2005, and a MBA from Muenster University, Germany and Montpellier Graduate School of Management, France in 2001 (joint German-French degree program). Her primary areas of expertise are consumer decision-making, self-control and brand management. Her work has been published in various marketing and neuroscience journals and has been presented during diverse conferences focusing on behavioral decision research. She has received several awards and grants for her research.

Todd Hare
He received his PhD from the Weill Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences of Cornell University in New York City in 2007 and his B.S. in Biology from Iowa State University in 2002. His research interests center on reciprocal influences between cognitive and affective processes as they relate to the regulation of thoughts and actions and decision-making. He is also very interested in individual and developmental differences in cognitive-affective processes. Using fMRI, he has examined how prefrontal control networks interact with affective processing systems to guide behavior and how the relative influence of these systems on behavior changes with age.
